Boy with puppy

Hello, hello my crafty Friends!

Today I have for you card with cute image created by Patricia Alvarez called Boy with puppy.

You can find it here.

I wanted simple card, but with some texture, so...

I choose paper with watercolour kind of colours on, piece of textured creamy handmade paper.
I layered image on gold dotted piece of card and added extra little tag in deep purple to lift sentiment a bit with single gem for finishing touch.

Maybe I should place image bit higher, but ... I like result as it is :)

What do you think?

In artistic mood

Hello peeps!

Today bit of my drawing/painting as I was playing/doing homework for my course/chilling out for last few days.

Definitely I am not material for Cubist 😊,  but ...

Cubistic style in landscapes looks OK here 😊.

As I prefer charcoal and soft pastels lately and cityscapes are tempting...

I draw this pic, my teacher said: 'Contemporary' as it 'is to realistic for Cubism'.

Also tried charcoal portrait 😊

My little man when about 8 months old - from photo. Not bad but need more practice with mouth, nose and eyes.

Yesterday I enjoyed making my first ever collage

Teacher's review: 'Good use of different sorts of papers, realistic.'
She recognised place 😊. St. Mary's lighthouse in Whitley Bay 😊.
She also suggested to try more abstract and contemporary collages. Definitely something interesting to try.

Today's lesson was about pointillism, strange and time consuming technique... not my fave really..
One of my works

We'll see how I will feel with Impressionists styles next week... theoretically we need acrylic paints, but she said I can use soft pastels for it.. phew 😊.

That's all for today!

Till next post friends!

Baby Elephant

Hello Crafties!

Did you know you can find cute images of elephants in Conie Fong's etsy shop?

No?

Now you know 😉.

I have card with one of them for you today. It is called Baby Ellie and you can find it here.

I coloured image with Prismacolor pencils - colour scheme: green, yellow, dash of orange.

As I love tearing paper lately I decided to make this card totally full of colours, perfect for Summer baby.

I choose 2 patterned papers and bold cardstock for layers. Image and sentiment I shaded with green pencil on edges, added lace and few opaque gems for finishing touches.

Picasso style

Hiya peeps!

Today little update from my artsy course 😊.  After 2 weeks of Easter break I back to my lessons. We had Picasso and Cubism yesterday.

Hmmm.. interesting but I am not good in this style of drawing /painting. .. I'm more into realism then abstract /geometry...

First we were drawing portraits of each other - no Cubism whatsoever on mines 😊. Just look:

Then we were drawing 'still life'.. took me 3 attempts to make it looks like kinda Cubistic/Picasso style 😊.

Definitely oil pastels are better for 2D pics then soft pastels - no smudges or shadows.

Still need to catch up with collage and paintings in Georgia O'Keeffe style.

Next week - pointillism - sounds very interesting :)

That's all for today!

Emma Rose

Hiya Crafties!!!

Did you saw Emma Rose - new image from Conie Fong?

No?

Check her etsy shop for this beauty.

I decided to make a card with her, but... which option use: girl facing left or the one facing right?

So hard to choose, so... I coloured both :)

Honestly, did I have any other choice?

Tell me - did I?

Cards?

Of course I made two :)

Yellow, blue and green with blue opaque gems.

Navy blue and dark pink with floral paper and pink dotted ribbon.

Which one you like?

That's all for today.

Monoprints, inks and ATCs

Hiya Crafties!

Today something different 😊.  My son is home cause Easter break, so.. Mummy needs to entertain her crafty little man 😊.

I decided to show him how to make monoprints...

We used rather big ceramic tile, acrylics and... soft pastels, so... we actually made mixed media pieces. One piece of his big homework done here :)

Later I was dealing with ATC I planned ages ago... Die-cut some pieces to use as masks, took inks and...

'Mum, can I play with inks too?'

What I supposed to say???
 :)

And here my ATC :)

I want to enter my ATC here:
